The F-15K Slam Eagle is a much improved variant of the F-15E Strike Eagle making it capable of carrying air-to-air, air-to-ground and air-to-sea missions. The F-15K and the F-15E have most of the same external components but the F-15K has an advanced radar with radar warning, electronic warfare and communication systems supplied by South Korean firms. The F-15K is also equipped with a Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System and capable of carrying Sidewinders, AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles as well as AGM-84 Harpoons and SLAM variants.
If it becomes certain that an attack on South Korea is imminent that government will implement operation “Kill Chain”. This operation will involve hundreds of armed missiles and aircraft that will attack North Korea in an attempt to pre-empt the launch of North Korean missiles and aircraft. South Korea has approximately 60 F-15Ks as well as F-16s and F-35s that will all be involved. F-15K 08-056 MSN K56 from the 11th Fighter Air Wing based at Daegu AB.
