Jul 25 - FAA Extends Medical Validity!
Great news! The FAA has recently decided to extend the duration of medical certificates for those under 40. On July 24, the FAA extended the duration of third class medicals from 36 calendar months to 60 calendar months (five years) and first class medicals from six calendar months to 12 calendar months for pilots under age 40. We will soon make the necessary changes to our pilot logbook software and written test preparation software to account for the changes. UPDATE: this has now been implemented in our Safelog Pilot logbook software and has been addressed in most of our content titles (RideReady, GroundSchool). |

Good news! I just took my CFI airplane knowledge test (FIA)
and got 100%. The lady administering the test said she has never had anyone in all her years ace that test. Bonus! Just after I finished that test, I took the Ground Instructor Advanced test (GIA) and aced it too! I have never aced any FAA tests in my life and with the help of your software I aced two in one day!

| Jun 1 - What's going on..
When we're slow about posting news here, as we have been recently, it's a sure sign that we're busy.
Despite the lack of news here, we've been hard at work on a number of fronts in the last few weeks and months. Besides the usual updates of our GroundSchool written test prep software and several small but key upgrades to Safelog, our pilot logbook software, we've been working on massive improvements to our SafelogWeb web-based logbook interface in preparation for increased collaborative and shared use functionality, by which we mean the ability of you to share your log data with your flight instructor, corporate flight department, airline, etc.
Additionally, we're working on a major new set of aviation training software that we hope will radically decrease your time and cost in flight training. This will likely be released this summer. Stay tuned! |

CG, of Chambliss, GA, wrote the following to express his thanks as to how our software came through for him for his short-deadline study needs where our competitors were found wanting...
The "Other-Guys" could not help me with taking the Helicopter Add-On exam...Disappointing. I found your product thru an Internet Search and purchased your ATP Program.
Additionally, I did not have much spare time to study for the exam and needed something intensive and focused. I must confess to using the dippy-bird method. I studied for approximately 10 hours over (2) mornings and took the exam the afternoon of the 2nd day of study. Though not earth shattering, I scored a respectable 86%.
Frankly, I did not even study for and merely chose "C" for the time/distance and TAS problems....
Excellent product and great price!
While we generally recommend that people take longer than two days to study for their test and really take the time to learn the material (GroundSchool features full explanations, after all), it's also reassuring to know that if you're in a position like CG here with a tight deadline, our software will see you through. |
